If the horse won’t drink, drown him in the water
I don’t really have much to say but i feel the need to post a blog so im gonna force out some dribble that probably won’t matter to anyone. It’s May and that means a very exciting time of the year for me, PLAYOFF HOCKEY! Anybody who knows me knows how much of a avid hockey fan i am. This time of year would be much more enjoyable for me if my King’s were in the playoffs, but as the old saying gos “next year” (i hope). But alas i have been able to find a team that i enjoy, the Chicago Blackhawks, we’ll see if they make it to the finals. I was rooting for the Boston Bruins but they got eliminated in overtime of game 7 (ouch!) against the Carolina Hurricans, so lets go Blackhawks!
Hmm.. what else, ive got a few releases in the past week im really into which you should check out.
The first is “Grey Britain” by the Gallows. I really enjoyed their first release but man this one is head and shoulder above it. It’s pissed and dark and moody and i just effing love it. Some of my favorite tracks so far are “The Vulture (Acts I&II), London Is The Reason & The Riverbed. I love the intro to the album also, the haunting sound of the ocean flowing threw gallows gives me goosebumps.
If i make it out to Warped Tour this year i will not be missing The Gallows. Check out the video for The Vulture (Act II) below.
Next on my list is Wilco’s new album simply titled Wilco (The Album). There’s not a whole lot to say, it’s a solid album and sounds very similar to Sky Blue Sky but has a little more of a country influence. In my opinion Wilco hasn’t put out anything remotely close to a bad album and they continue that stream with this. Favorite song so far is “I’ll Fight”.
They are streaming the entire album on their site, check it out here; http://beta.wilcoworld.net/records/thealbum/
This is my surprise pick. Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears -- Tell ‘em What Your Name Is. Holy crap this band came out of nowhere when i was least expecting to discover them. They opened for Lucero this past Thursday @ Alex’s bar in Long Beach & god damn are they awesome. Very James Brown’ish but modern. My personal favorite is “Get Yo Shit”.
Normally i’m all for downloading an album if you have the knowhow but seriously, buy this. http://www.myspace.com/blackjoelewis
I’ve been a big fan of The Devil Makes Three for a while now and their new album “Do Wrong Right” doesn’t disappoint. By their standards it’s a little more of a mature album as the songs are a little more structured and produced but it’s still god damn awesome. God ‘ol bluegrass mixed with some punk & folk influences. Choice cuts are “Gracefully Facedown” “For Good Again” “Aces & Twos” & “Johnson Family” but really there isn’t a bad song on this album.

Alright, my last album on this list is “Animals In The Dark” by William Elliot Whitmore. Another country folky album which is the way my musical taste has been for the most part as of late & damn does he have a cool voice. Pretty basic songs mostly just guitar and singing, but he does it damn good. My personal favorite is “Who Stole The Soul” although the single for the album “Hell Or High Water” definately deserves mention.

Alright that’s it for my music recommendations, maybe i’ll do this every couple of weeks or so to give me a reason to consistently blog. I had more i was going to say but instead im gonna have a beer and watch some TV.
What don’t you fucking understand?
Recently some audio popped up on the internet of Christian Bale flipping out on a lighting guy on the set of the new Terminator movie he filmed recently. To say the least he comes off as a HUGE prick. Anyways a Los Angeles producer by the name of RevoLucian remixed some of the audio and it’s freaking hilarious.
If you find it as funny as i do and want it for your iPod you can download the track here: http://www.revolucian.com/BaleOut-Download.html
Here’s Christian Bales freak out
Raptors Ahead, Caution
So looks like someone in Indiana decided to pay homage to the Zombie roadsign hack and warn motorists about Raptors ahead.

Will this become a common hack? My guess is yes being it seems relatively easy and well, is hilarious
California Dreaming
![]()
So i added a Freebie section and added the first of hopefully many freebies. It’s a wallpaper called California Dreaming, i recently did a poster for an annual surf contest and was really happy with it so i decided to take some of the elements and make it into a wallpaper.
On a sort of unrelated note, it is entirely too damn hot right now, im laying bed watching Weird Science with the fan on full blast and the window wide open and its just completely miserable. I feel bad for my poor dog, she has been panting all day this must feel like a thousand degrees to her.
Also i added a video player w/ some music videos and other stuff ive been in, if anything its pretty comical so check that out here (its at the bottom of the page).
Well im gonna go back to watching Weird Science, but ill leave you with my personal favorite scene from it if not my favorite scene from all movies.
Overkill
So my “Hetero Life Mate” Jason has a clothing company, Malus Clothing, and he’s asked me to be a “guest blogger” on the blog section of their site. I havn’t posted anything of value yet and am not sure what i will post but go check it out anyways -- Malus Blog.
I’ve been slowely gathering recent designs for the Design section and have added some photos to Photography so check those out, if you like any of them leave a comment, and if you want prints i can make that happen too.
Other than that i don’t really have much else to say, i’ve been on a big Men At Work kick lately and am a huge fan of Scrubs so with that i leave you with a video of Colin Hay performing my favorite Men At Work song “Overkill” on old episode of Scrubs.
Oh yeah, i bought a sweet new bed frame from Ikea yesterday. Peep it.

Dustin Brown is my hero
I’ve never been a fan of Teemu Selanne even back when he started playing for the Winnipeg Jets & well as a Kings fan i absolutely love Dustin Brown so it’s great to see Teemu get facewashed. I just wish it happened in a Ducks/Kings game, but even on the worlds level its still great.
